This course is ideal for students who want to immerse in a thorough study of the Prophet’s (peace be upon him) biography and to reflect and derive inspirational lessons from the significant events around his life.

The primary text for this course is, “The Sirah of the Prophet (peace be upon him) by Dr. Yasir Qadhi. Supplementary text includes the “Seerah Ibn Hisham”, the “Sealed Nectar” and “Muhammad Rasul Allah, the Apostle of Mercy” by Abul Hasan Ali Hasani Nadwi.

Objectives of this course

  • To review the important chronological events including the Prophet’s (peace be upon him) early life, his mission in the early revelatory period in Makkah and the building of a nascent Muslim community in Madinah.
  • To draw on key lessons and consider how they can serve as inspiration to approach the contemporary challenges that Muslims face in the world today.
  • To introduce the key humanitarian values that the Prophet (peace be upon him) taught and lived and how they carry universal importance and application.

Course Requirements

  • Punctuality and regular attendance to class are important values.
  • Students are encouraged to read through their notes after class and be ready for pop quizzes.
  • Class discussion and participation is rewarded and highly encouraged.
  • Students maybe assigned extra reading outside of class.

⚠ No classes during Christmas, Easter, and half-term breaks.
